HWAT?
January 6, 2009If anyone notices (I doubt they do), me, Bryan and his brother have been using the word “HWAT”. I made the word up during SJC last year. HWAT is supposed to be like “WTF”, an exclamation of great disbelief or shock.
Normally the “H” isn’t really audible but we do pronounce it. The pronunciation is similar to “HUAT” but a great deal of emphasis is placed on the “WAT” verbal component.
Example of usage :
SP : I managed to get someone to treat me milkshake! XD
Bryan : HWAT?
HWAT is a good word to use. I’ll use this more often soon instead of WTH & WTF. At least it doesn’t sound like I’m cursing. XD
Hi.
Actually, words beginning with “wh” or simply have wh in them ie;
what
wheat
when
etc
the only one you dont use hw for is: who
talk about refined speech. it’s actually proper english according to the international phonetic alphabet.
